I have been interested in Photography since a young age when my parents gave me a yellow plastic film camera from Snappy Snaps, but it is only recently that I have gone further with my hobby. Since buying my first D-SLR a few years ago I have only now started to expand and explore my knowledge of photography to the point where I am happy with my photo’s and want to share them.
I am based in South Benfleet in Essex and love living so close to the water. There is nothing more relaxing than spending a day in the local area with my camera.
I have fond memories of the Norfolk, Essex, Kent and Sussex coasts from my childhood and love revisiting those places to take photo’s and enjoy them all over again as an adult.
My cat Twiglet also features heavily in my photo’s as he is just so adorable…

Macro photography lets you get up real close to your subject, and I love the fact that you can see everyday objects in a totally different way. The most mundane household object can be turned into a work of art.
Included here are pictures of my local area including Benfleet, Canvey Island, Hadleigh, Southend, Shoeburyness and other parts of Essex and Thurrock. I am enjoying spending time of a weekend away from the shops for a change and out in the local countryside.
This gallery shows some of my favourite coastal places in the South East of England. I have fond childhood memories of Broadstairs, Deal, Lowestoft and Dymchurch to name a few and of course my favourite – Dungeness! I have also enjoyed exploring new places like Brighton and Margate. A camping weekend by the coast provides a perfect excuse for some photography!
Wildlife photography was my first passion as it combined my love of animals with my love for photography. Shown here are examples of my wildlife pictures from around the globe, stretching from England to Canada (so far!). My dream is to get to the polar regions and photograph my favourite animal – the Penguin.
While Wildlife photography was my first passion, it can also prove to be difficult. So I turned to my very own little ‘Tiger’ Twiglet for some stunning portraits. These pictures wouldn’t have been the same if it weren’t for his unique personality which I think shows through these images.
There is nothing more inspiring to get stuck into cooking in the kitchen than looking through a recipe book that has stunning photography. I have been known to spend a fortune on Donna Hay magazines just for the pictures, and not do much cooking out of them though! While Food photography is a real art I have tried to get some amateurish shots of my cooking.
High Dynamic Range Photography is produced from multiple versions of the same shot, merging light with dark to produce a different type of image. While some people think the images end up looking too false, I think it can provide a very unique atmospheric image.
